As a Librarian for the Ferguson Florissant School District you will work as a member of the instructional staff, teaching library skills, and the appreciation of literature; and working cooperatively with classroom teachers to enhance units of study through the utilization of library resources; to direct technical processes of the library media center.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid Missouri teaching certificate and Library Certification
- Conduct collection development; select new materials after reading reviews, examination, and keeping informed of curriculum at all levels and subject areas.
- Introduce students to literature appreciation through activities such as art, drama, games, media production, music, book talks, storytelling, and writing.
- Stimulate interest in the library-media center and reading through displays, book fairs, contests, the Missouri Association of School Library Programs.
- Assist students to develop competency in listening, reading, viewing, thinking, and problem-solving skills.
