JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:   Serve as an effective liaison for teachers, administrators, parents and students between school, home and community agencies for the purpose of improving the overall learning experience for children. Focus to be on prevention as well as correction.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Physical stamina to handle challenging work schedules.
  2. Exercises sound judgment on sensitive issues.
  3. Ability to maintain effective and cooperative relationships with students, staff, and families.
  4. Ability to organize, work with details and follow through.
  5. Possess a personal interest in helping youth succeed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Degree in social work.  Masters prefered.
  2. Current Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training or be willing to be trained
  3. Practicum experience or on-the-job experience in providing social services or counseling assistance.
  4. Demonstrate effective human relations skills and understanding of principles of youth development.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Assigned to 187-day work calendar; 7 hours per day vary; compensation and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) as provided by the Board of Education
