JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE: To repair and maintain plumbing systems at District locations and assist supervisors.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. On-Call after hours.
2. Have good attendance, work and driving record.
3. A valid driver’s license.
4. St Louis County Plumbing License or obtain within 6 months


Education - High school diploma or its equivalent


Knowledge/Skills –
1. Have knowledge of and ability to repair the following; dishwasher, garbage disposals,
thermocouples on water heaters, steam tables, and all other general plumbing repair projects.
2. Have the ability to repair and replace circulating pumps on domestic water systems, gas valves,
solder copper pipes, fitting, joints and install PVC piping, fittings, and joints.
3. Have the ability to operate sewer cable machines, backhoe, bobcat, other heavy equipment.
4. Ability to replace sewer lateral lines, water lines, gas lines
5. Knowledge and skills to perform all plumbing-related tasks throughout the District


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:
The Lead Plumber is responsible for the following duties:
1. Perform duties as a District Plumber
2. Complete plumbing task at assigned buildings and assist at others as needed
3. Review work orders, purchase orders, invoices
4. Assist with analyzing contracting needs vs in-house work
5. Assist with project repair evaluation and capital projects management
6. Respond to an emergency request for service (on-call after hours)
7. Other Duties as Assigned


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (also see Physical Demands Checklist, attached) School or office
setting.


EQUIPMENT / TOOLS/ MATERIALS USED: Drills, saws, grinders, routers, sanders, solder,
plumber tape, piping, sewer cable machines, backhoe, bobcat, snow plow, other heavy
equipment, and all hand and power tools necessary to the position.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Assigned to 260-day work calendar; 8 hours per day vary;
compensation and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) as provided by the Board of
Education.


REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Safety glasses
WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS: All General Maintenance positions are physically
demanding and require the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, work off of ladders and scaffold,
work in confined areas with frequent stretching, twisting and bending. Specific job categories may be more strenuous and may require different physical abilities, but all jobs incorporate
the above requirements.
