JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE: Set up and serve meals to all students and faculty, to maintain cost control and comply with appropriate government regulations, responsible for over-seeing complete cafeteria operation for the site, responsible for over-seeing assistant cafeteria manager, cashiers, workers, sub and temp agency staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for effective performance while carrying out the duties/responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent 2. The ability to supervise others. 3. Have strong communication skills. 4. Ability to create a positive working environment by encouraging teamwork. 5. Have excellent organizational skills. 6. Must have a current sanitation certificate at all the time. 7. The ability to maintain proper sanitation levels by training and communicating with employees. 8. Have computer skills regarding all functions that relate to point-of-sale system, ordering, Microsoft Office, other related software. 9. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation. 10. The ability to precisely count inventory while keeping accurate records. 11. The ability to maintain accurate inventories levels through proper ordering. 12. The ability to follow instructions. 13. Have knowledge of catering and special events a plus. 14. Have good attendance record. 15. The ability to manage another school if needed. 16. The ability to follow and enforce district policies and procedures. 17. Must pass the Food Service skill tests. 18. Perform other related duties as assigned.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Check menus and assign daily tasks to staff. 2. Responsible for or assists with the preparation and cooking of daily menus and preparation work for the next day's menu. 3. Serve menus on time using the proper utensils and portion control. 4. Responsible for recording meals on the computer. 5. Responsible for the collection of all monies. 6. Responsible to balance the drawer at the end of breakfast or lunch. 7. Responsible to set up steam table and serve meals; restock steam table. 8. Responsible for or assists with break down and clean steam table after serving. 9. Responsible for maintaining a safer and sanitary work area. 10. Responsible for locking and unlocking all freezers, coolers, etc. 11. Responsible for verifying all deliveries as they come in. 12. Record purchased inventory and commodities inventory (correctly and in a timely manner). 13. Managed another school if needed. 14. Perform other related duties as assigned.
